UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, to discuss avenues for boosting bilateral relations and advancing joint development initiatives. The talks focused on enhancing collaboration in key sectors such as economy, trade, renewable energy, innovation, emerging technologies, and culture.

During the discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of aligning efforts to achieve mutual goals that foster sustainable growth and prosperity for their citizens. The dialogue reflected their shared vision of deepening cooperation to serve long-term strategic interests.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, began with Prime Minister Fico delivering greetings from His Excellency Peter Pellegrini, President of the Slovak Republic, along with wishes for the UAE’s continued success and development. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed expressed his appreciation and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to further strengthening its ties with Slovakia.

Both sides reaffirmed the robustness of UAE–Slovakia relations, noting steady progress across various domains. They agreed to further expand cooperation, particularly in areas central to both nations’ development priorities such as innovation, sustainability, and strategic economic partnerships. The leaders also exchanged views on international and regional matters of mutual concern, underscoring the need for continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement in resolving global and regional challenges.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Robert Fico witnessed the signing of two key agreements — a cooperation agreement in the economic sector and a memorandum of understanding on investment between the UAE and Slovakia. The UAE was represented in the signing by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, while Slovakia was represented by His Excellency Vladimír Šimoňák, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; as well as several ministers and senior government officials. The Slovak delegation included a number of ministers and senior representatives accompanying the Prime Minister on his working visit to the UAE.
