The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has announced, under the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, that rain prayers (Salaat Al Istisqaa) will be conducted in mosques throughout the UAE tomorrow, Friday, 17th October, as reported by Xpats.ae.
The Authority confirmed that the special prayer will start thirty minutes prior to the regular Friday prayer across the nation.
According to Xpats.ae, the Authority emphasized that the rain prayer follows the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), invoking Allah Almighty’s mercy and blessing for abundant rainfall to nourish and benefit the land.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the Authority, expressed gratitude for the directive of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting that the initiative reflects his dedication to reviving prophetic traditions and promoting acts of faith within the community.
Dr. Al Darei also prayed to Allah Almighty to bless His Highness with continued health and strength and to grant the UAE lasting prosperity, generosity, and blessings.
