The UAE Media Council has introduced the new “Amen” digital platform, designed to empower the public to monitor and provide feedback on media content across the nation, enhancing transparency and accountability within the UAE’s media ecosystem.
This initiative reflects the understanding that the community plays a crucial role in preserving the integrity and values of the media landscape. Through Amen, the Council aims to encourage active community participation in fostering a responsible and secure media environment that aligns with the UAE’s vision of advancing its media sector to global standards of excellence.
Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Office and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, affirmed that the country’s leadership prioritizes people and communities at the heart of its development strategies. He reiterated the commitment to promoting awareness and accountability across all sectors, particularly the media, which serves as both the mirror of society and a platform for its collective aspirations.
He highlighted that the UAE remains dedicated to nurturing a trusted and professional media landscape that reflects Emirati identity, supports national ambitions, and promotes innovation and creativity. The media continues to play a vital role in the nation’s progress, helping reinforce its cultural roots, strengthen national identity, and enhance its global reputation.
Al Hamed emphasized, “Content is a profound responsibility—it shapes collective thought, awareness, and attitudes, and showcases the nation’s image and stature. Every message we share should inspire and uplift society, build constructive awareness, and reflect our values, humanity, and proud national identity.”
He added, “All members of society, in their diversity, are partners in building a credible and accountable national media. This collaboration ensures the sustainable evolution of media content in the UAE, reinforcing its leadership in promoting open dialogue and mutual understanding.”
By fostering constructive conversation and participation, Amen seeks to uphold content quality while preserving the UAE’s cultural values, social harmony, and ethical principles. The platform empowers residents and citizens to contribute actively to shaping a media environment grounded in balanced reporting, responsible communication, and authentic representation of Emirati values.
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, stated that the Amen initiative aligns with the “Year of Community,” declared by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The platform embodies the UAE’s vision for high-caliber media production, serving as an interactive bridge that encourages citizens’ participation in safeguarding societal values and fostering awareness among younger generations.
Al Shehhi explained that Amen provides a transparent channel for open communication, ensuring that all media content is consistent with community principles, national ethics, and creative excellence. It forms part of a comprehensive regulatory structure the UAE Media Council continues to develop to promote a professional, credible, and progressive media environment across the Emirates.
